LRBC is keen to proclaim the Gospel in both word and deed. Currently our Compassion Ministry seeks to fulfil this desire through our Manna Project.

The Manna Project

The Manna Project provides basic food and toiletries to individuals and families in the community who are struggling financially. Food parcels are available from the office at Cottage Road on the following mornings: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Where possible we will also try to provide some practical assistance to help relieve this need in the longer term. This may involve practical help from individuals in the church or it may mean us pointing you in the direction of those with specialist knowledge.

How can you get involved?

Donate food to the Manna Project
– A collection box is placed under the welcome desk each Sunday. Dry goods including tinned food, cereals, tea, coffee and toiletries are the most suitable items to donate.

Give financially
– A collection for compassionate ministry will be taken monthly during our morning Lord’s Supper service. Some of this money will be used to buy fresh goods as part of our Manna food parcels.

Get involved
– Join a group in the church who are praying and giving further thought as to how we may develop the biblical mandate to show compassion as a church to those in the community.

The Deacons seek to co-ordinate compassionate care within the church family. This includes overseeing the Manna Project and visiting people both within the church and in the community. For more information contact Rod Wark or Deborah Tibbs.
